HEALING STARTS

How can we use the connection between our mind, body, and emotions to drive us deeper into vitality and wellness?

and then i learned how to change the game

This section takes you into how your thoughts and emotions show up physically and how you can release and repattern them to transform your life.

I don't know about you but for me one of the most difficult parts of navigating symptoms is feeling utterly out of control. The vulnerability of not knowing why something is happening, if it will get better, or how it will unfold is enough to put me into a psych ward from sheer anxiety.

If You Feel:

✓ like you're running in circles

Been through 50 different healing protocols, diets, and or courses? Still end up in the same place?

✓ completely detached from yourself

Looking in the mirror and not recognizing the reflection. Like that's you, but you couldn't feel further away from that person?

✓ likes there's a massive block holding you back

Can't put my finger on it, would have NO idea how to explain it, but I just feel like something is holding me back from moving forward.

Then this is for you...

Okay, first let’s break down a few things that are essential when shifting and repatterning our state of mind and health.

Key elements to keep in mind to help simplify some things:
1. Our brain is made up of matter and uses electrical and chemical signals to operate. These signals are energy. When you think your brain’s cells communicate with each other using these energetic signals (you cannot touch a thought but it is still composed of matter (brain cells) and energy (brain signals)

2. Matter can be seen as a concentrated form of energy. Matter can be converted into energy, and energy into matter (think about ya boy Einstein and his famous equation).

3. The cells in our body are matter, as are things that take up space anywhere regardless of size (trees, animals, water, organs, etc).

4.Energy is all that is unseen and is responsible for making things happen. Many different forms (thoughts, light, heat, electricity, etc)

5. Everything in the universe is made up of matter and energy and are all interconnected working together (even when you cannot see it)

The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but it can be transformed from one form to another. Each of us can convert energy into new forms, but only to our benefit when we tune into ourselves. Imagine living life in a state of flow where emotions, symptoms, and circumstances present themselves and unfold without causing overwhelm, distress, and disease. What if instead of being consumed with fear we let our bodies lead us into new depths of being and healing? Embracing your power to transform energy creates an awareness of what the human body is capable of and is the key to rooting ourselves in freedom and vitality. Our energetic susceptibility is at the core of our physical ailments. If the body at its atomic level is freely flowing it is exponentially more equipped to address and handle obstacles (toxins, viruses, bacteria, stress, etc) that are thrown its way. This concept is fundamental.

Body awareness is how conscious and connected you are to your own body. Leaning into the various ways it is communicating to you every day and how you can intuitively respond results in radical physical/emotional shifts. Everything you could need resides within you.

Adapting a new mindset & emotional energy

To take on a new state of being we must first address our mind. Our mind both consciously and unconsciously has the power to shift the state of energy that flows through and around our body and it is doing so all day every day. Everything in the universe is made up of atoms which are composed of subatomic energy clouds. In simple terms the human body and all that surrounds us (both tangible and intangible) is made of energy. This includes our skin/tissues/organs/cells, thoughts, and emotions. Energies affect other energies. What does this mean? It means our thoughts, and emotions impact our physical body. When you think a thought it projects as energy—While invisible to the eye this energy is picked up by our subconscious mind. Some studies exhibit sound-evoked physiological responses. Words dictate how your cells respond and act. How you view yourself and your body will massively impact your state of health. Let me repeat that. How YOU speak to yourself will directly influence how you feel. If you do not grasp this concept and apply it to your life you will hit wall after wall. Your relationship with yourself is pivotal. Many of us have been beating ourselves up throughout our lives. When we are infants and children our inner voice is developed by the people in our immediate environment. The way they treated us and made us feel composed of our subconscious mind (inner voice) has directly impacted the course of our relationship with self, and therefore our physical being as well.

Repatterning negative self-talk

Many of us have some degree of change that needs to unfold in this area of our lives. Compassion, grace, kindness, and patience are required to successfully rewire and transform the light we view ourselves in. This reigns especially true if you have been your biggest bully for the entirety of your life. We each have to learn how to love and respect ourselves before we can expect our bodies to heal. It is not possible to regenerate when hate is the primary source of energy being fed to your entire being. Does this concept annoy you? Do you immediately resent it? Then you probably need it the most.

Arguably the most effective place to start in the process of forming a new relationship with yourself is to address stagnant and trapped energy within the body. This can be approached and supported in a variety of ways including emotional release, homeopathy, quality time, and somatic release.

Emotions

Dr. Nelson has spent years researching, implementing, and developing a simple and highly effective process for permanently removing trapped emotional energy. There is a process that unfolds with emotions and it goes like this: Our body generates an emotion, we feel that emotion + any thoughts/sensations that accompany it, we process it, release it, and then move forward. If anything interrupts the first two stages then that emotional energy becomes trapped. What are some things that might interfere with this process?

1. Overwhelm: When an emotion is too large for us at the moment we feel it we may shut down
2. Disassociation: Childhood environment, dysfunctional relationships, lack of safety and nurture among other things can lead to detaching ourselves from the present moment and our body.
3. As trapped emotions collect they can make it more difficult for the process to naturally unfold.

Example: You witness someone get punched in the face. If this was unexpected then any shock/confusion/terror and the frequencies they generate) become trapped. If you saw it coming (say watching a fight) you may have been better equipped to process the event and so whatever thoughts and feelings you felt were acknowledged, processed, and released.

Even when we do not recall a traumatic or negative experience if that emotional state was not released then our subconscious retains whatever was initially felt as negative energy. These energies have shape and form to them which is why they disrupt physical processes within the body. Our mood, organs, and other bodily functions are all impacted by this stagnation. Given that each emotion has its unique vibrational frequency and our body is composed of energy these thoughts and emotional energies impact the way we operate and can make the body more susceptible to disease. Have you ever just felt like something was blocking you from moving forward? Or you have tried everything one hundred different ways, and yet still had made no progress? You have just come across your why. These energies shift our ability to get unstuck. With that being said once released our body feels the effects and they ricochet throughout the body. With some of the releases, you feel the weight of a lifetime lift from your being. There are no words that do it justice.

How to get started:
The Emotion Code: Dr. Brady Nelson wrote a fantastic book that goes in-depth into trapped emotions and teaches you how to release them for yourself and others. The technique is simple to implement and the benefits are instantaneous. There is also a website and practitioners listed who are trained in the method if that resonates with you.
Homeopathy: Classical homeopathy applies remedies that shift these internal patterns to stimulate whole-body healing. Learn more about its benefits here.
Somatic release: Movements that stimulate the release of pent-up emotions within the body. Can be done at home, or with a practitioner. Bodywork in all of its forms can trigger a somatic release.
The Law of Attraction: Exploring and familiarizing yourself with this can both empower, and motivate you to truly dive deep into this area.

Creating your vision

Sitting with yourself and spending the time to identify your ideal outcome is pivotal in adopting a new mindset. We each have a why, and we each have inner desires for this life we are living. Sometimes we have been conditioned for so long to bury these because they are “not feasible.” One of the most effective ways to start implementing change is to get excited about the possibilities that await you. Get accustomed to your dreams. Immerse yourself into your most ideal day. Explore what makes you feel good inside. Feed into this! Form I will/I can/I am statements and implement them into your routine. “I am grouded and at peace.” “I will start my dream business.” “I can recover from addiction.” Hot tip: if it feels uncomfortable to say it out loud that’s an excellent indicator that you’re on the right track. Our brains are wired to keep things consistent and safe— When introducing a new desire for growth that can be felt as uncertain/uneasy/out there. It’s not, you are closer than you can imagine, but genuine transformation comes with brand new neuro pathways and habits. Our comfort zone expands and is pushed to the max. What are the main components that your dream life has? Where do you live? What do you feel like when you wake up? How do you spend your days? What would it feel like to live in this reality? Bullet points these details and then write them down into statements you can repeat to yourself. Immerse yourself in this daily. When you flood your body with this joy, potential, and hope your body will begin to respond to it. If you embody healing your cells will follow. Make it physical. In any way you choose. Write it down, type it in a note on your phone, put it on a sticky note, create a vision board, and make it a wallpaper on your phone. It does not matter how you make it tangible— It just matters that you do it. From there figure out how you can get in touch with your ideal outcome daily. Whether you implement this into your morning routine, at a specific meal time, before you workout, or right before bed. Whatever that looks like do it! It’s easy to get caught up in our current daily chaos that we abandon the future we so desperately want to create. Take on the art of noticing. Slow down. Carve out times of the day to become intentional with your focus. The more you do it the easier it becomes. You can bring this energy and state of being to fruition.

A few tips to consider as you get started:
1. Identify self-limiting beliefs. Sit with yourself and get quiet. Think about something you desire, and then pay attention to the thoughts that arise after. These may be “I don’t have the time” “I will never be able to do that” “Nobody cares what I have to say” etc. Once you identify the thought patterns that you have you can work to rephrase and rewire them to bring your ideal state of being to life. Example: “I am always anxious” = “I am grounded and at peace.” This exercise alone is incredibly effective at expanding awareness of our mind and body connection. Your nervous system will respond to the connection you are fostering and work to relax and ease.

2. Remove negative input. If you have people in your life who make it their mission to discourage you or cannot help themselves but bring you down. Place distance and boundaries between yourself and them. We are directly impacted by the energetic state of those around us. Just as our thoughts/emotions/frequencies interact with one another so do those of other people. Your subconscious will respond to its surroundings. If you feel a sudden shift in mood/energy around new spaces or people pay attention to this. Use your intuition to guide how you spend your time. It has a profound influence on how you feel.

Creating your haven

You have formed a vision, now you have to explore how you can create a physical space that is supportive of your goals. Take the time to observe your surroundings and see how they make you feel. If they bring dread, overwhelm, or anxiety start implementing small but consistent shifts to transform that space.

Behaviors and habits have become engrained into our brains. We wake up and almost always do the same thing (with slight shifts). These habits are built into our brains and become almost instinctual. You can create new habits more effectively when you utilize your current routine and pair your old one with your new one. This is called habit stacking. It increases the likelihood of adopting a new routine.

Examples:
  • Accountability. Get real with yourself and decide if your natural tendency is to reject change/structure, embrace it wholeheartedly, have an uncontrollable need to understand why you should spend your time doing something before you even consider taking a step, or maybe you rely on a support system that will keep you focused and on track. Whatever it is you want to lean into this so you can set yourself up in the beginning to implement consistent results.
  • Take inventory of what you are consuming: Social media accounts, news outlets (TV, online, whatever), books, and friends are all shaping your life. They either feed you or deplete you and that has to be addressed if it is adding constant stress and negativity to your life.
  • How do you want to wake up and feel? What would you do, what would your ideal space feel like? The key word is feel. Use that as a compass to guide you on your path toward revamping it.
  • It does NOT have to be extravagant. Something about the social media era has inserted this false reality that before we can live in a space that feels good and uplifting we must first have an expensive home, office, whatever for it to work. False. You can transform any area into a system that fuels your passions. A tiny apartment can still be used to cook meals, and make remedies. Nature is almost always accessible to some degree. Leverage what you do has to take you closer to what you want.

Habit repatterning and formation
Behaviors and habits have become engrained into our brains. We wake up and almost always do the same thing (with slight shifts). These habits are built into our brains and become almost instinctual. You can create new habits more effectively when you utilize your current routine and pair your old one with your new one. This is called habit stacking. It increases the likelihood of adopting a new routine.
Examples:

  • After I brush my teeth I will scrape my tongue.
  • As soon as I lay in bed I will list three things I am grateful for.
  • Before I eat breakfast I will take 5 deep breaths.
Breaking it down like this makes it easier to implement and less overwhelming.

Neuroplasticity is the ability of neurons in our brain and nervous system to change through growth and reorganization. The ability of our brains to accept and apply a change to our lives is dependent on providing it the support it needs to put forth energy into these new neuron connections. Our nervous system likes to feel safe so the beginning stages of new habits can often feel daunting and impossible. They are not, and when you push through that discomfort your body will respond.
Some tips for increasing neuroplasticity:

  1. Foundations- Nutrition, nervous system support, circadian balancing, and quantum health all directly nourish your brain and help it to adapt, heal, and transform.
  2. Meditation- Highly effective (while also deeply beneficial to the rest of your being). Mediation and mindfulness are correlated to positive changes in the brain’s stress response, focus, attention, and mood. Even 5 minutes a day (although longer periods produce more support) stimulates tremendous support within the brain.
  3. Make small changes in your day- New grocery store, different route to work, new walking path, etc all compel the brain to rearrange its connections. This makes it easier to do moving forward.
  4. Using your non-dominant hand strengthens new neuron connections. Eating, brushing teeth/hair, throwing a ball, etc is an easy exercise to do.
  5. Learning a new language. If you have ever had a desire to expand in this area it will simultaneously support neuroplasticity.
  6. Rest. Give your brain time to rest and repair.

Getting intentional throughout your day

Carving out periods where there is no external input from screens, podcasts, music, or anything that takes away from the present moment is a phenomenal exercise that grounds you into your life right here right now. When you take out distractions the reality of whatever life you are currently producing becomes unavoidable and with this, you gain invaluable insight into whether or not you are content with who you are and what you are doing. How we expend our energy can get away from us. The more we escape the easier it is to become complacent with things that nourish the soul. This is highly underrated because not only are you directly supporting your nervous system and nourishing your mind-body connection, but you are also embracing the beauty of time and slowing down to be in the moment at hand. Sometimes we want to avoid our reality because we can become overwhelmed with how far away we have come from where we thought we would be. Instead of suppressing this let that feeling emerge, give it the acknowledgment it needs, and then allow room for grace and gratitude. You may not be where you want to be, and you may be somewhere far away from who you thought you’d be, but you are here for a reason, and whatever that may be it is now woven into your story. Use it to propel you forward. Learn to let love cultivate in all areas of your life. Where you feel shame, make space for acceptance. Where anger resides, room for compassion awaits. Every negative emotion has a counter-emotion ready to bring balance and healing. None of this can happen without first letting it come out. So grant yourself the gift of peace (even in a room full of kids, animals, or other people) and let your mind take a break from external input to take in its immediate surroundings. Overstimulation can only be addressed when we get intentional about our input. If you find that life always has some degree of chaos know that there are still ways to center yourself into a state of stillness.
